Chronic Pain Treatment

A pain management plan tailored to your chronic pain condition will support you on your individual recovery path leading to reduced pain levels, increased movement and improved quality of life.

Our Chronic Pain Physiotherapy treatments offer unique strategies for management of chronic pain.

Here at Mobilise our therapeutic approach to chronic pain is unique because we understand the physiology and multidimensional nature of pain, and apply the biopsychosocial model of pain care. What does this mean? To help you manage your pain effectively and get your life back, all aspects of your chronic pain condition need to be considered and addressed. Our therapists combine manual therapy techniques with the most up to date pain neuroscience education, and collaborate with various health care professionals to achieve that goal.

The cutting-edge treatment techniques used in our Chronic Pain Physiotherapy Treatment appointments are the core of modern chronic pain diagnosis, management and rehabilitation including Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE/TNE), Graded Neuro-Desensitisation, Graded Motor Imagery (GMI), Virtual Reality, Neurodynamic Techniques, coping and relaxation techniques, movement/pacing and exercise therapy as well as orthopaedic testing and manual therapy techniques such as soft tissue massage, dry needling and electro-dry needling, Muscle Energy Techniques, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Myofascial Release, Rocktape and Trigger Point Therapy. Together, we will create a treatment plan that suits your unique needs.

In your treatment sessions you will also learn about pain in the specific context of your condition and how to interpret what your body is trying to tell you. This is a scientifically proven, effective way to help your nervous system re-write its pathways and re-learn its old coping habits. Pain scientists, neuroscientists and experts in the chronic pain field have shown that understanding pain helps chronic pain sufferers reduce their pain levels and improve their quality of life. This happens by regaining control over your pain through understanding why you are experiencing pain, what you yourself can do about it and what we can do to help you relieve your chronic pain.

We will also equip you with pain self-management skills to help you not only overcome the pain-related fear but also to promote your confidence in managing your pain condition in the long-term to stay physically and emotionally functional in all areas of life.

At Mobilise we understand the pain language your brain speaks and with our help you can learn it too.
